Hours: Average 35 hours per week, on rota of 1 shift on, 2 shifts off.
Salary: £18,363.80 per annum. Overtime paid at £11.00 per hour
Location: Edgbaston, Birmingham
As Shift Leader you will be responsible for a team of residential support staff within the home, reporting directly to the Registered Manager. As the Shift Leader you will need to ensure that the needs of the young people are being met and that the service provided does not disadvantage the young people in any way. The Shift Leader will ensure that a high quality service is being delivered as well as supporting each young person to fulfil their potential. Part of your role will be to attend regular review meetings, conferences and statutory review meetings.
As the Shift Leader you will ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working within a Children’s Home setting or equivalent, and be qualified to CYPW Level 3 or equivalent in related subjects. You will be expected to demonstrate a good standard of knowledge in the following areas; Child Protection as well as understanding the importance of child and adolescent development, National Minimum Standards and Leadership. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, verbal and written, a calm and compassionate nature along with the motivation and determination to help others succeed.
