FAMILY CONTACT SERVICES (COVID-19)
Keeping Families Connected During The COVID-19 PANDEMIC
DMR Services recognises the importance of maintaining contact between children and their non-resident family members where appropriate. In response to COVID-19, we are now operating virtual contact services for children and families. Our virtual contact service offers fully supervised, video and voice contact for children and families in self-isolation. This service differs greatly from platforms such as Skype and Facetime, ensuring contacts remain fully supervised, safe and beneficial for children.
Our virtual contact service allows children and their non-resident family members to continue with benifical and appropriate contact whilst self-isolating and observing national guidance in relation to social distancing. We utilise our secure and encrypted platform, allowing family members to participate in HD video calls. Contact supervisors remain in complete control of the contact session, ensuring court directions and agreements can continue to be enforced.
Our virtual contact service is secure and safe. Children and their non-resident family members are invited into a ‘virtual room’ by one of our contact supervisors. Our virtual rooms are secured using the latest encryption technology. From there, our contact worker can monitor video and voice exchanges, and where appropriate, intervene, guide and end contact sessions. No special software or equipment is required, with all children and family members being able to access their contact from a mobile phone, tablet, desktop or laptop computer.
We are able to undertake virtual contact services under both private and public law arrangements. Referrals are currently being accepted from local authorities, solicitors and private individuals nationwide. To make a referral for virtual contact services, please call our family contact team on 0121 352 1844. Alternatively, please email enquiries@dmrservices.co.uk
The British Government are currently coordinating the national response to the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Public Health England (PHE) have published COVID-19 guidance for social, education, community and residential settings. DMR Services remains committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all our service users and staff teams. All service provisions remain operational and we will continue to be guided by the DoH, DfE and Public Health England. DMR Services has now established a dedicated alert system for our staff, ensuring we have effective communication channels in place to deliver the most up-to-date national guidance to our teams. We continue to recognise the importance of good hygiene and infection control practice across all service locations.
