Every year we work with the next generation of social workers through our students placements programme. This year we saw Roland, one of a number of students placed with us through our partner universities throughout Central England. Roland completed his placement with us in December 2018 and shortly after he left, we received a kind letter from him. Here is what he said:
Hello everyone, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the directors, managers, office staff down to the students on placement for the great time I spent with you whilst on placement. I really have thoroughly enjoyed my time working at the agency and getting to know the team, children, young people and their families. I have found myself working with DMR Services very rewarding and I have taken with me a vast knowledge and skills base that are easily transferable to my social work career. The support and supervision I received from my PE Alison was enormous and I thank her from the bottom of my heart.
I would also like to say thank you to the rest of the team for making me feel welcome and teaching me some valuable skills that I will take forward with me into my Social Work Career. I have felt very lucky to be a part of such dedicated hard working team that strives to make positive differences in children and young people’s lives every day. The inclusiveness of a very diversed and supportive team impacted positively on my confidence and progress throughout my 100 days placement.
Alison was a great mentor and was so supportive and pushed me to do my best. Her way of professionally conducting herself is an inspiration to all the social work students under her care. Excellent Mentorship. Individual and group supervision was excellent. They would meet each week and discuss any concerns or support needed. I felt this was extremely useful to express my own worries and concerns and a good way to gain team feedback and improve on my practice.
I sincerely thank DMR Services for accommodating and tailoring my practice based on my learning and professional needs. I will always remember you all as I look back in my career ladder and hopefully pop into the office to say hi from time to time. Thank you very much and may God bless you and be with you now and forever.
Well done to Alison!
